Our Bedroom
I shared a picture last night of our bedside table and realised I haven't shared our bedroom at all so thought for my weekly room update blog post (that I said I would do from October), perhaps this room is a good place to start.
I think it's a little like a 'before' for this room as I feel it still feels quite bare though of all the areas in our new home, this is probably the one we have bought most furniture for. We left built in wardrobes and drawers which held all my clothing so we bought a bedroom furniture set for Colin's clothes while mine are being stored on a few metal rails in our bedroom and hot press.
We are saving for built in wardrobes and going to get the joiner that designed our kitchen to install oak painted wardrobes in the spare room. Hopefully in a few years we will move into the spare room when we are ok with the girls being upstairs and us being down.
I love that the room feels fresh and airy but perhaps too clinical still at present and like all the furniture is just set in. I'm unsure if I want to add some dark colour for interest or just keep it light and bright, add more pictures, prints and plants to make it feel less bare. We have a black out blind up and it was important for it to be one of the first things done due to Colin's shift pattern but I am hoping to get a linen Roman Blind soon made for this room too. Our roller blinds so far have been made by Lauren from Fabric Upholstery who comes out, measures up, brings some samples and then installs. Also really well priced (not an ad at all but wanted to give a shout out to a really fab small business!)
The bedroom only has a one small window but it is a nice, bright room with lovely views of the country side, better than any fancy painting in my eyes.
I'll keep you updated on what we go for but until then I'll keep scrolling Pinterest and making the colour choice soon as we have painters booked!
Next week I hope to share the playroom, though after only 3 months in our home and yet to have anywhere painted (currently just a badly applied undercoat) most rooms are still a work in progress!
